Typical scope
Projects range from a single-zone background music system for a small retail space to multi-zone paging and music systems covering hundreds of thousands of square feet across multiple floors. Healthcare, education and houses of worship each have specific acoustic and operational requirements that shape the design.
On new construction projects, rough-in coordination with the GC happens in design development so speaker locations and cable pathways are in the drawings before walls are framed. On retrofit projects, we plan cable routes to minimize disruption to finished ceilings and walls.
Common questions
What is the difference between a paging system and voice evacuation?
A paging system handles day-to-day announcements and background music. Voice evacuation (also called mass notification) is a life-safety system governed by NFPA 72 and local codes. We design paging systems and coordinate closely with the fire alarm contractor on voice evacuation — the two systems often share speakers and cabling but require separate design authority.
How many zones can the system support?
Zone count is determined by your floor plan and operational needs. A single-zone system plays the same audio everywhere. Multi-zone systems let you run different content in different areas — lobby music while overhead paging reaches the warehouse but not the open office. We design for your actual use case.
Can the paging system integrate with our phone system?
Yes, in most cases. Many VoIP phone systems support SIP paging endpoints, allowing an overhead page to be triggered from any desk phone or softphone. We confirm compatibility with your phone system during the design phase.
Do you handle outdoor speakers?
Yes. Outdoor speakers require weather-rated housings, appropriate amplification and cable runs designed for environmental exposure. We specify and install outdoor audio as part of the overall system design.
Need audio that actually reaches the back of the room?
We design systems that sound right, not just systems that are installed.
