Who it's for

Architects who need a reliable AV sub-consultant who reads plans, meets deadlines and does not embarrass them in front of the client. General contractors who need AV scope defined early enough to get accurate bids. Interior designers who need room configuration guidance before furniture is specified.

We work in both Boston and New York on commercial office, healthcare, education and civic projects. Deliverables are formatted to match your firm's drawing set and specification structure.

Common questions

When in the design process should we engage you?

The earlier the better — ideally at schematic design or early design development. AV room layouts, conduit and sleeve locations, equipment room allocations and electrical rough-in requirements need to be in the drawings before they are issued for permit. Engaging at construction documents means change orders; engaging at SD means clean coordination.

What is CSI Division 27?

CSI MasterFormat Division 27 covers audiovisual communications systems — structured media systems, data communications, voice communications and AV systems. A Division 27 specification defines the performance requirements, equipment standards and installation requirements that the AV contractor must meet. It is what keeps the project from being defined by whoever shows up with the lowest bid.

Do you stamp or seal drawings?

We produce detailed AV design drawings for coordination and bidding. Stamping requirements for low-voltage drawings vary by jurisdiction. Where a licensed engineer stamp is required on AV drawings, we coordinate with the project's electrical engineer of record.

Can you review an AV contractor's submittals?

Yes. Submittal review is a standard service for design-assist engagements. We compare the contractor's proposed equipment and installation approach against the specification and the design intent and return clear comments — not a rubber stamp.

Let's get AV in the drawings from the start.

Early coordination prevents change orders.
